사업소개
ASEIC has hosted annual global forums on eco-innovation among ASEM member countries, contributing to sustainable development across the international community through:
Raising awareness
Sharing policies
Introducing cutting-edge technologies
Presenting best practices
Outcomes and achievements of ASEIC-led projects are also shared through the Forum, strengthening the collaborative foundation for the sustainable growth of SMEs.
The ASEM Expert Meeting on SME Eco-Innovation Capacity is an official working group established at the 10th ASEM Summit in 2014. Bringing together member country governments, international organizations, and industry experts, the Working Group advances:
Policy sharing
Development of joint agendas
Planning of cooperative initiatives
Policies and recommendations developed through the Working Group are submitted as official agenda items to ASEM Ministerial Meetings and Summits, and serve as the basis for establishing concrete cooperation and implementation frameworks among ASEM member countries.
* In keeping with its informal consultative character, ASEM does not maintain a formal secretariat. Administrative functions are carried out by four Coordinating Countries — two from Asia and two from Europe.
As of December 2024, the coordinating countries are Bangladesh and Vietnam (Asia), and Belgium and the European Commission (Europe, permanent).
